27” instead of 32” is very lame

are they really two models? are they available via the API or are they wrappers built on top of models available via the API?

HN bans IPs for unusual activity too, luckily they have a human friendly way to get unbanned.

well I'm just glad to find out nobody has been discriminating based on race or sex since that would be unethical

are y'all really repeating over and over "they did it so i can do it too"?

This is awesome! $3299 is a great price drop. I’m moving countries soon and wasn’t going to bring my old monitor, so this is perfect timing.

It’s a smaller monitor though, the discontinued one was 32 inch 6K resolution, this one is 27 inch 5K resolution.

But it’s the same pixel density.

Majority of devs are in the global south I presume

“Told” is different than it being written into law. Go update the laws first and then you have a valid argument

So they'll be able to use the already-written DPA, right?

They can try, but:

1) it’s pretty transparently obvious that Anthropic is not a supply chain risk, and that this is a retaliatory gesture. So I don’t support that usage.

2) if they do try, Congress or SCOTUS could well reduce or remove that authority. I give the Trump admin enough credit to assume that they are considering carefully which laws they spend in this way, DPA is a valuable chip they may need to spend for something more valuable than Hegseth’s temper tantrum.

> it has encountered the patterns you’re picking out in lots and lots of text written by humans?

In pre-training data, yes

There are post-training datasets, where the weights are changed to conform to human preference. These datasets are created by groups of thousands of people all following a 40-page guide, and these guides have example. People over-index on these examples and so sample sentences with these structures are over represented in these datasets and used for post-training.

and the end result of this action will be every neighborhood having a guy who orders the peptides from overseas and mixes it into a liquid with a net reduction in safety for millions

I'd argue more harm is done by any delays in approval
