For the cellular data issue, you can set a SIM pin so when the device is turned off and on, they need you to enter the pin to access cellular data

But it only asks for the pin on boot which probably isn't that helpful

Sure it is, shut down the phone when its "quitting time" and then if they turn it back on, thats ok, internets disabled

How is their commute relevant? If they are WFH, theres less people needing to commute. Thats less fuel or more efficient fuel economy for public transport to use

Yes but we are offsetting their lack of commute (being public transport, a small impact anyway) with having to heat many more houses.

Most energy goes into making up for the temperature delta. If you turn the heating down, the delta at either evening or morning goes up.

Note, some people even think that would take even more energy in total per day, but that's not correct because a cooler house doesn't emit as much energy as a warmer one.

I would hazard a guess that (x houses @ minimal heating + x amount of petrol burned during a commute + emissions from heating an office) > whatever amount of emissions x houses would generate going from minimal heating to comfortable heating.

Honestly, its overkill. When my MaBook went kaput, i had to start doing everything on my iPhone. Had to get a good mobile documents office suite (Collabora is great ), do all my banking with both mobile apps or desktop browser apps, etc. Its been dfine, i doubt i would use a full size computer for that anymore.

Have you ever tried bluetooth wearables like the Bose SoundWear? Off topic but they are awesome

Sounds like a win-win. Rich people win then they double dip and win again

Well what is then? Respectfully, please have an alternative or otherwise how is this not astroturfing

Astroturfing? If I don't have an alternative, I'm secretly being paid by "them" to tear down UBI? Who would "them" even be? How would that even work?

Anyway, subsidized jobs programs is my answer. Pay people to do jobs. Plant trees! There's so many places that could use some reforesting. There's no shortage of work to do.

I think the whole premise for UBI is that there won’t be any jobs left, jobs to make a living at least.

I know for a fact StanleyNickels™ have surpassed, nay, exceeded SchruteBucks™

This can be avoided by 1) only subscribing to things you cant one-time purchase as local only apps 2) disconnecting any app from cellular data access that doesnt or should not need internet to function (local only) 3) only use wifi for large downloads or limit which apps can use wifi

Peter Thiel's degree was in philosophy

Its very entertaining, Archie.exe

We are aware.
