I call bullshit on you comparing what was obviously a 2000s+ phenomenon with that of closer to the 1800s.

I didn't say 1800s. But also I thought "dictation" meant via a secretary. I guess they meant by voice recognition.

I thought the same.

"Dictated but not read."

Less: "its a bubble"

More: "labor market and consumer spending is less meaningful than ever before"

The masses are unable to truly internalize the latter.

I recently learned that in the US there are now more private equity/VC funds than there are McDonald's locations, which may indicate that the majority of consumer spending is irrelevant to the top 'n'%

Less meaningful, or less represented? If you sell your foundation out beneath yourself, the entire structure might come down. No matter how valuable it is to sell that rebar out of the concrete now, or how many additions that money allows you to add on top, it is likely not a sound strategy long term.

Those are two separate things that reinforce eachother.

Having high amount of spending come from the asset wealth is by itself not immediately a problem. Having a bubble is by itself not immediately a problem.

It's the combination of the two that's dangerous.

The Redditor demographic, and this one as well, is the epitome of "Last Man".

I envy the simplicity of your worldview, it must be so efficient to invoke.

Please don't cross into personal attack or name-calling, regardless of how wrong another comment is or you feel it is. You can make your substantive points without any of that.

You're a "simple person" if you think that bringing GLP-1 to the masses or smoking cessation won't have monumental impacts on public health - of course thinking is something that non P zombies do...

Serious, qualified doctors are already calling for nearly everyone to take GLP-1s. It's hard to find things that GLP-1 doesn't positively impact in regards to longevity.

Please don't respond to a bad comment by breaking the site guidelines yourself. That only makes things worse.

Edit: could you please stop posting unsubstantive comments and flamebait generally? You've been doing it repeatedly and we've asked you many times not to.

I'm convinced that the ills of America are pronounced, moreso than any other developed Nation, to prevent further brain drain from other nations to the US (with, among other things, its privileged reserve currency).

Everything is a distraction from a distraction from a distraction. -Kierkegaard

Of symbolic importance given what Colorado has symbolized in the past. Think 1977

You're referring to the Voyager launches?

Reddit is trivia porn

I had this exact thought the other day. Social media is information porn. Endless amounts of empty information that gives you the feeling of acquiring knowledge, with none of the substance.

I feel this way about The News.

And also real porn.

The T-Rex was originally reported to have the same exact speed as the Tinny Lizzie, the Ford Model T.

The King Carnivore...how many horses did the Model T put out to pasture?

Almost as if the discovery of the former...had greater purpose.

But it's so satisfying to one's ego that a single cause is the issue. All complexity of societal changes in the last 50 years can be outmanuevered. Simplification is sexy.

It’s satisfying to know that we’ve eliminated a major environmental toxin with so many awful effects. It doesn’t mean that lead explains everything, but it is a lot better than the “we built enough prisons to lock up all the bad guys, maybe we should build more” alternative hypothesis/proposal I’ve heard.
