Why nobody mentioned Photos by Apple?

I used to use iPhoto, don't know if their Photos app is the same but iPhoto was extremely slow and put every pic into its own proprietary "database".

I'd rather have access to a file system that has them and I can sort through that way, do copies, backups, etc. without having to touch a 20+GB file.

Getting photos out of old iPhoto libraries has been a nightmare for me. I will never use a system that is not a simple directory structure for photos again.

In addition to that, I find that photos are actually harder to manage when everything is a singular blob on all of your devices. When trying to free up space, I am not sure what can stay and go and what is safely stored elsewhere. I actually moved my parents from Photos to Dropbox for this reason (and that they are on Windows). It is now trivially easy to just erase all photos on anyone's phone and be confident it is living in an easy to find directory structure. I no longer have to spend hours making sure that the photos I think I have backed up are indeed backed up and nothing will be lost when Photos are taken off of an iOS device.

Feedly is the reason I no longer follow Google News.

Here's how I managed to sort out my bookmarks

-Bookmark only those sites which I regularly visit -Use the reading format for the articles I like to reread -Save them as PDF in the specific folder related to work -Delete those files which don't make sense anymore -Print the folder and read it when the need arises

Hi Sama, I'm the founder of nanowe. We're launching an IoT product this year and have a great team working all days and nights on it.

I get the feeling our startup can't be that bad not to be a part of YC as we have everything in place but need a great platform & community to showcase what we're building. Hardware is tough and takes more money and we're about to raise a convertible note using YC SAFE docs. Does this make our case weaker to be accepted into YC?

The link on your front page pointing at https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/Ahmedabad... returns a TLS error due to an akamai misconfiguration.

All the press releases in https://www.nanowe.com/newsroom/press-releases/ just show headlines, no content.

From your website, I'm having a hard time figuring out what your company actually does.

Thanks for reporting the error, some more bugs might be there, we will fix them before hitting the market.

Well our company is just our people - and what we do best is we don't give up! https://www.nanowe.com/timeline We also build products, some of them have failed and some we killed recently in order to focus on one big thing.

Definitely not--we certainly understand that some startups need to raise more money than others.

Great! I'll submit the application asap.

Hi, this is Akshay, founder at NanoWE. Our marketplace is live at www.nanowe.com/demo but isn't open yet for buying products. We're using Stripe for the US customers and recently successfully tested and integrated Razorpay for the Indian customers. I'd recommend Razorpay as it eliminates the pain of too much paperwork - and of course their support is amazing, the team always goes a step ahead to help you onboard!

Thanks for the kind words :)

Lets do it

What exactly does "technical" mean? Does it only apply to people who write code?

does it hurt not having a technical co-founder?

Will YC consider an application from a team of two founders and the first employee holding stocks? The third guy is a programmer and a good friend.

Sure.

Pg, Our 4-month-old startup is incorporated in California. I've heard that most Y Combinator startups are incorporated in Delaware. Is it necessary to reincorporate in Delaware if selected for the W2014 program? Thanks!

Various VCs have indicated in multiple blogs that the state of incorporation is not significant.

Having an out of state incorporation is a pain in the neck, and expensive, especially for people without much money. Don't bother. If the time arrives where Delaware incorporation becomes important, it is easy enough to merge into a new Delaware corporation at that time.

The main VC advice, and YCombinator advice is that the LLC -- Limited Liability Companies -- are not a suitable vehicle for VC investment.

Understood!
