There are huge gaps between the scientific paper and how you actually operate and scale Paxos from an engineering point of view. See "Paxos Made Live - An Engineering Perspective" by Tushar Chandra et.al.

I think Steven Blank was right about Customer Development methodology.


What do you guys think about this project? Digitalizing your retailer receipts. It seems to me a huge project where they will be able to get SKU level data out of it. It seems to be very cool.


I have used it for ram memory (free) and processes (ps) monitoring.
