Really depends if company has some spyware installed. My work MacBook was just given me as plain new MacBook that I installed everything myself. Personal iCloud, work OneDrive, no corporate spyware
I have worked in 3 companies and none of them had installed anything on the work laptop. One IT department tried to, but I ignored all their messages. I would probably be pissed if I have to give up the right to work with privacy.
I had formatted the laptop both while getting it and returning it. I had filevault on and I wouldn't have shared my password.
Modern MDM solutions use Apple Business Manager to automatically deploy the MDM after a system wipe. If you have a company owned Apple device, and the company has it enrolled in ABM, then you can wipe and filevault all you want, but the agent will still be reinstalled, and the file vault key escrowed.
Yeah I know. It's not like Apple is trying to hide it or most companies try to hide spyware, and I know how to check for Apple business manager or spywares.
Removing copyright will benefit parasites and big players more than small artists and businesses. Big businesses won’t have to eg obtain any licensing to publish someone else’s novel or technical book.
It is alarming, but what's truly insane is that every single year something huge now burns on the West Coast: 2018 Mendocino, 2020 August Complex and Creek Fire, 2021 Dixie Fire and Bootleg Fire, there are countless more - Domino, Dulce, Timber, Twin Big Sur, Dillon. Don't even try to collect the comprehensive list of them - you'll have nightmares. West of the States is actively burning, East is drowning in hurricanes, the middle is in drought, mega tornadoes and golf-ball-sized hailstorms. We are all in "Don't look up", but worse - at least, in the movie people died instantly. For us, it's going to be suffering for many years, and it's gonna progressively get worse. What just happened in Nepal is not an isolated incident. AMOC is slowing down and our weather becoming volatile, chaotic and extreme and we're not only not doing enough - often we don't even want to talk about it at all.

Future proof solution could be selling and buying somewhere where climate change won’t hit as hard, eg north, but I guess not everyone can afford that, and cooler regions may not offer sufficient sustenance or infrastructure like schools and jobs.
Better solution would be migration and building and expanding cities. I have huge doubts current systems will be able to or even consider to tackle catastrophic problems that are 10-20-30 years ahead, huge public investments, forcing capital to share too, drain dry all the oil biz. Instead it will be free for all
But what will be the safe places people could migrate to? I'm not sure we can really predict this, especially since the least affected locations are going to be the ones everybody will be interested in. And given the ramping-up xenophobia I can't imagine climate refugees suddenly being welcomed with open arms...
This can be read rather directly from the UN's prediction maps. But essentially: anything northeast-US will be fine, anything Paris and north from there will be fine, in fact, probably better than today.
The big problem starting in the South Of France, or in the US south, especially Nevada and Arizona. Intolerable temperatures a few weeks every year, not a constant problem.
Note: the general consensus is that the 2026-2036 period will see little if any warming (meaning currently El Nino is pushing hard, but that will stop, and then it'll be dragging the temperature down for a while, which won't cause a drop, but will keep things more-or-less constant). So you have time to decide.
How exactly other websites “gave it all away”? Also examples you list are websites putting some explicit rule eg in their robots.txt or filtering web crawlers. This is all a reaction to existing situation, so Reddit for sure has been scrapped before Reddit realised what was happening.
