Author of Practices of the Python Pro here—thank you for recommending my book! I'd also recommend any of David Beazley's books.

I don't agree with all the points from the article, but I do agree there is a depth of learning to be had about creating packages (and doing it repeatably/scalably). I wrote a book about creating Python packages that just came out: https://pypackages.com

Even this book doesn't cover all options in each area, and it skips almost wholly over conda because I have no personal experience using it. conda and the work in the scientific community adds complexity both to the creation and the consumption side of packaging, and that's one area I'm not sure this post covers all the nuance of when considering how a "one size fits all" solution might work in practice.

I still have my stuff on AWS instead of Heroku and use Rollbar instead of Sentry (not for any specific reason), but overall I'm really happy to hear that I'm tracking well with this setup. I find it smooth as butter most days. Thanks so much for sharing!

I wrote this tiny toy blockchain code to help myself understand blockchains, based largely on the UI at https://anders.com/blockchain/ by Anders Brownworth.

I did change the password, but it had reached the point where the impostor had security questions in place so that I could not take certain actions against the account without answering them. Namely, I wanted to delete the account or change the email address so that I could change MY email address to the desired one. There appears to have been a large delay in the system, as I was finally able to change it just now. The support employee was less than helpful in stating this as a possibility, however.

I never received such an email, to my knowledge. I agree that this is normally what takes place.
