I think there's a spectrum of tech reduction tools, from a soft block (e.g. Freedom.to) and leading to the hard block (Intent Case)
For some folks always being connected is a hard and fast product requirement, but others are happy to forgo an urgent call. Note that a generation ago, any trip away from the house required you to accept that you wouldn't be available for a call

What's wrong with that? Read it with skepticism, just like you read the corporate outlets pushing propaganda on behalf of the USA with skepticism. Hopefully you'll find some clashing ideas/narratives. There is a lot of good content on Russia Today e.g. Chris Hedges' show.
