My email doppelganger tried signing up for something recently, so I just went to the site and put in his email address so he can click the link and sign-up.
I have the same problem. The other guy owns a grocery store in Michigan and some of the stuff I get is wild - invoices, Azure professional services, hotels.com. I'm nice 1 or 2x if it looks important then comes the spam button.
Late to the thread, but one of the alternate theories I heard was that it's not the US national security asserting influence, but rather the Chinese government as nearly the entire supply chain and manufacturing exists there.
This works really well for the candidate too. They walk into an interview with a known quantity and can "own" the conversation by discussing the reasons that they made the decisions that they did. It ends up being a very context-specific portfolio.
