Triplebyte is just a different filter.

"In our assessment of 35,000 leaders and interviews with 250 more, we found that the more senior a person’s role is, the more sleep they get. ... It used to be a badge of honor to brag about sleeping few hours, but our research should serve as inspiration for aspiring leaders to make sleep sacrosanct. The key message: If you want to be an effective leader, and rise in the ranks, get enough sleep."

I think this makes sense. Money makes it way easier to automate / hire for non-essential things. My time is basically just work, family, reading or sleep at this point. Everything else is automated or hired for.

There's also not a huge benefit to doing the test at all.

Cargo cult data science.

aka most "big data" projects

Who else has noticed that most of those graphs don't start at zero and instead only show a very filtered view of the statistics collected?

Why is this flagged?

The problem is that if you own your distribution channels you need a massive marketing budget to stand out from the other offerings as you are competing with other distributors instead of getting help from them.

Absolutely and you need massive manpower to be good at all media and distribution channels.

He's a line manager. What do you think he should do differently?

Cultivate a team spirit? You tell me.

It's your objection so you tell me, if you actually know what you are talking about.

You should think about how your behavior on HN might impact your reports.

I don't have much more experience as a manager than you do but here are some thoughts. 1. Share the roadmap with your team once confirmed by management 2. Don't force your implementation on the team but let them come up with it and use it as long as it is good enough 3. The time will never come that you feel that your reports are ready for hand over - it will only come by necessity when you are asked to take on more responsibilities so that you have no choice but to hand off this work. So, you may as well start the hand over today as there will never be a better time.

The long term brand plan must be set by the CEO and in the example provided by the parent, the CEO only cares about keeping investors happy in the short term, alas no spend without immediately identifiable ROI.

Like "don't hire jerks." Don't work for people writing those posts as they are obviously jerks themselves.
