Its a personal extension i wrote myself, maybe I should put it up somewhere.. Its so simple though i dont know if its worth it vs just "go build it yourself"

I used it too and it gets you from A to B but there is nothing that tells it if there is a road closure, traffic jam, other road issues that makes the drive longer etc etc.

Sure, but all projects are version controlled? You only mount the project dir so you can only loose your current changes - which is the same if you copy...

I love idle games. What's it about?

It's a MMORPG. Combat, bosses, gathering and crafting professions, etc.

I run my stuff in a local k8s cluster and you are correct, most stuff runs as replica 1. DBs actually don't because CNPG and mariadb operator make HA setups very easy. That being said, the downtime is still lower than on a traditional server

The main issue is that who is supposed to implement it? The gov has 2 possibilities: hire a contractor, or do it themself. DIY has the issue that nobody wants to work for the gov because as any IT specialist you'd earn 1/3 or 1/4 of what you would earn in a private company. Stateworkers here cannot be fired. So you trade money for extreme "stability" (read: laziness). Hiring a contractor requires money they also don't see the necessity to spend. And that's how you end up in this situation. There are also other issues like no national wide implementation plan. Every state, every commune has to figure out and build stuff themself.

Have you looked into Rustdesk? The setup isn't complicated, it's basically TeamViewer but local. It provided me with a way better quality than anything VNC based on linux.

I get most of your points but from experience it just doesn't work out very well. For example I get a different /64 (or was it /60?) prefix every day from my ISP. I complained about it and the reply was that they don't offer a stable prefix for non-business customer. Your point with email is something I didn't experience. I could never get email on ipv6 only to work because the mailservers I wanted to send mail to were ipv4 only...

That is very unfortunate and where pressuring the ISP becomes necessary for a bit. You can always route your IPv6 traffic through a relay of your choice to get a stable prefix but I 100% agree that it isn’t fun.
