The source stressed that Twitter’s filing could
still be delayed by a variety of factors, from
changes to the prospectus to market conditions
to a potential shutdown of the US government.
I guess it makes sense, but incredible to believe that a gov shut-down would affect Twitters IPO.

If it went on long enough and there were outstanding questions that could only be answered by the SEC, it's not incredible at all. Or do you mean that it's incredible that our political system is so broken that we must worry about such possibilities?

It appears he lives in Chicago yet he happened to visit TWO Sauce locations in SF on the same day.... this guy is unbelieveable

I think they are on to something - this part for me stood out (quote from Max Levchin)

"Anything that can be measured, you record—and
it’s applied to things like managing your weight,
or deciding how likely you are to dope in the Tour
de France. But with infertility? You get a Xerox
  from the 1960s.”

Most up-to-date fertility clinics use ultrasound and hormonal tracking to check the cycle; temperature & mucus are unreliable.

And, even if someone's ovulating or not-ovulating... it's often moot when it comes to whether to opt for fertility treatment. It's much more about time spent trying already, and finances.

This app is a "me-too" app

No, Nate left.

Read this NiemanLab article from 2010. It was always clear (to me at least and a few others) that the NYT thing was just a step along the way (partnership vs acquisition - 3 yr contract, etc):

Once its come to their attention, no manager/director is going to go to one of their dev's or designers and say "Hey, go ask person x to take that down...".

If this situation escalated it could look sloppy on their part if they didn't handle it properly with the correct resources from the beginning.

There is no reason why this issue at hand can't be handled in a professional manner - in this case by an actual lawyer.

I've received a number of C&D and this to me is by far the most level-headed and polite that I've seen in a long time.

Just because you didn't expect a response form a lawyer doesn't mean its "aggressive" by default.

I really doubt somehow that app reviews in Apple are cahoots with the internal app developers.

Apple is too secretive for that.

Don't you have to be convicted first before you can be pardoned?

Before they wiped out college tuitions costs back in Ireland in 1996 the cost of doing a an excellent CS degree in UCC (http://ucc.ie) was about 2000 Irish pounds (about $2800 at the time) a year for 4 years.

If you were wanted to do medicine it was a whopping $5000 or so a year over about 5 years.

There were lesser hidden costs (200 for a registration fee kind of thing) but thats about it.

We considered that outlandish at the time.

The costs of the US education system baffle me on a daily basis.

However I don't see online courses as the way to go. Most people don't complete them.

How would you correctly pronounce 'Satoshi Nakamoto'?

Sah-toh-she Nah-kah-moh-toh.

Japanese is rather easy to pronounce once you learn which vowels to use and a few small tricks. The 'long' vowels are really just two separate syllables that get blurred together a little when adjacent. For example, 'ai' == ahh + eee blurred together and sounds like the word eye.
