Thought the same exact thing. For those curious, 4:3 intermittent fasting is where you eat normal for 4 days and restrict calories to 80% of TDEE for 3 days (if I understood it correctly). I was trying to make sense of it with how I typically perceive IF, like 16/8 etc.
- It builds on the existing site, so the new design is always applied to HN urls. No need to visit a separate website.
- Privacy - everything is stored locally in your browser, there's no 3rd party website to track your activity etc. Also with JSON backup you're in full control of your data.
- Unlimited storage - local browser storage has limits, but extensions can request unlimited storage. This is useful for the history and bookmark features.
I'm using DDG exclusively, for a few months now. Trying to get away from Google. I still find myself going back now and then though because the DDG results can be so bad compared to Google. I plan on continuing to use it primarily, it's just super annoying to struggle to find something and then go search Google and find it instantly.
That's not the same. Money doesn't just appear all at once ready to dump on the market, we get and invest it every paycheck. So average cost basis over time gets higher as you make purchases
annualized return is annualized return, his strategy gave him < 9% annualized return and that is being generous, saying he's invested for 4 years not 5.
if you look at SPX returns over the last four years, 2018 was a negative year but each year after was between 16% and 28%. also 2017 was over 19%.
I mean that applies to anyone in this thread more than me specifically. I'm not saying Wealthfront is the best option, just that I've been fine with it as someone who knows nothing about investing and didn't want to keep throwing money into a savings account. And if we're being picky about time, I'm closer to 4 years in Wealthfront and was up 50% all time a few weeks ago. Still not the best, but better than savings.
