"In 2024’s The War on Warriors, Hegseth argues at length that US forces should ignore the Geneva conventions and other elements of international law governing the conduct of war."
“'What if we treated the enemy the way they treated us?” he asks. “Would that not be an incentive for the other side to reconsider their barbarism? Hey, Al Qaeda: if you surrender, we might spare your life. If you do not, we will rip your arms off and feed them to hogs.'”
He wrote a book in which he openly advocates for war crimes. Maybe, just maybe, it pays to believe him.
He probably said "no quarter" because it sounds cool and doesn't really know what it means. The most ironic part is how he is an avowed Christian warrior and says "no mercy" when mercy figures pretty prominently in Christianity.
It’s the one constant about this administration: you’re always wondering ”is this incompetence by not knowing what they’re saying or incompetence where they know what they’re saying”
This program has cost nearly $100 billion to date. Yesterday's launch alone accounted for $4.1 billion in direct costs.
Saying "it was either this or that" doesn't make sense at these magnitudes. They could have hired a professional aerospace filming team for a ridiculously overpriced $10 million and it would be an _actual_ rounding error.
- report benchmark that conveniently omits well known SOTAs, 20 points
- conveniently omit well known benchmarks because not SOTA, 30 points
- change one tiny term in GRPO and call it a completely different acronym, 50 points
- try to slide in a systems hack and but title your paper as though it is a model improvement, 100 points (prizes to the first replier who figures out which recent paper i am subtweeting here)
(came from f5bot) thanks for the post - am live updating this with all the more "practical" stuff filtering out the twitter hype stuff around the mere mention of things like opus 4.7
Apologies everyone, I launched the site minutes after the leak and vercel was my only fastest and quickest option, the site went down when I was sleeping cuz I was working on it day and night.
Yeah my bad, half story. I was on a free vercel plan, Did not think it would explode like this.
I kept on pushing updates and when I went to sleep, the site went down, I could literally see the error on terminal with my blurry eyes lol but I was just too much exhausted.
Woke up from a few calls and messages from friends and on social media.
Migrated it to a VPS. Now it looks stable.
