This reminds me GPT-4 era studies where the LLM was better in a Law school exam than a student. We are not in 2023 anymore, or in the case of medicine, are we? If yes, this is bad news for health related applications as the low hanging fruits in LLM have been cut off.

I rarely remember my dreams in the morning, only a handful times in my life. At one I was a Chinese citizen and experienced a dense feeling of being a little ant in the greatest Empire the universe and time had ever seen (China). A nothing in the whole. There are no words. Another one was an insane, out of the world sex experience. Dreams are wild.

If we want decarbonation, nuclear power is inevitable until today. We can't rely on renewables for stable power for the masses. Other possible solutions for the future: hydrogen with it's problems and eFuels that need x4 energy to produce. But we said we have enough cheap solar.

It's a good article and, as a father, I experience and certify what it says. It presents the causes of the main observed fact (more time for kids) which happens anywhere in the Western world at least. But it can't go further and explain what general social changes cause all that. For me, in no order, they are:

Financial strains (family disposable income, high cost of living, wealth inequality)

Expand of electronic device use (from TVs to modern ones) and their apps

Convergence of gender roles, making males less masculine

General loss of classical values, promotion of easy life, short term goals and superficial qualities leading to misery and deactivation

Cmon. Let's not always be so pendantic. If we may, a 2yo doesn't fully walk, like eg a 5yo. And a 5yo doesn't walk like a 12yo.

My 5yo can kick an adult hard enough to hurt them thanks to kickboxing training, you bet he can walk like a 12yo lol

Vote with everything you have/can. Money, attitude, consumption, political connections. Make these greedy (beep) regret it. Users and developers stop using Play store.

Their whole investment castle is built on sand (pun intended) and when oil even remotely starts to fade out as a commodity, it will crumble instantly. Panic will ensue and corruption will be rampant in order to continue the lavish consumerism. Everything will be sold for pennies. The difficult thing is not to make money once, it's to keep them afterwards.

A sovereign wealth fund with over $1 trillion USD (so with over $1 million per Emirati citizen) which invests heavily in U.S. equities will be sold for pennies?

So U.S. equities will be sold for pennies?

Are you predicting a U.S. stock market crash bigger than the Great Depression, when oil runs out?

Foreign assets are only as good as your alliance with those foreign nations.

When you lose your only bargaining chip(oil), things start to look dicey.

You're implying that the U.S. securities worth hundreds of billions held by a nation will be under threat of theft (by the U.S. government itself?) because the nation doesn't "have bargaining chips"?

So the U.S. will begin to rob and plunder the bank accounts of countries that don't have a bargaining chip?

Is that where the U.S. heading? The daylight roberry of the bank accounts of foreigners?

Hhmmmm,

Could be a sell off if it isn't managed...measured buy-backs scaled over a timeline that maybe offers them an opportunity to invest in other commodities may be preferable.

Actually now that I think about it...I should probably keep a pulse on ME holdings about 2 or so decades from now

I have never seen a single ad online, except may be for one moment the ad blocker malfunctioned. I am certainly an around 0$ ad value user for Google. So some must be much more than 1605.

I forget how bad the internet is without an adblocker until I use someone else's device at which point they get inducted into what an adblocker is via "You want your web experience to be more pleasant?"

It's gotten to a point where if I can't run an adblocker like Ublock Origin I won't use the browser/device (I still need to look at DNS level blocking but everything I use runs FF so not super pressing).

Chrome (and derivatives) are only installed for testing stuff, FF for all it's sometimes questionable UX and AI crap (which can at least now be disabled with a single toggle) has been my default for a long time and is still for that reason.

In fairness though, I don't use many google products any more either (YT (with an adblock and sponsorblock) mostly).

Blah, blah, blah. Empty words with nonsensical meaning. OAI tries hard to be the good, the open, the people's company. While, of course, it is the total opposite. It might be the most hypocritic company in history, more than Shell putting it's logo between green trees. It's so obvious, you can hardly believe it.

The guy must be the best PM Greece had in the last 100 years, if not in it's whole modern history. He pushed Greece from bottom to top of Europe. He is just insanely unlucky: since his service the Western world had crumbled: that train accident, Covid, Ukraine, Iran, inflation. We laugh saying that a meteorite impact is pending soon. Let's look at what NASA has to say.

NASA is too busy "making Pluto great again"

The guy is a clown
