Grifters gonna grift.

Doesn’t this preclude that you already know how to produce good code? How will anyone in the future do this when they haven’t actually programmed?

> Even when code reviewing juniors, there’s a level of trust that they had a reason for including each line (assuming they’re not using ai too for a moment)

Even my seniors are just copy pasting out whatever Claude says. People are naturally lazy, even if they know what they’re doing they don’t want to expend the effort.

HN? You mean Molt News?

Respect.

It's been 10 years of it running on Linux.

People here need time to notice XD

The majority of devs I meet are extremely lazy. It’s why so many people are outsourcing their jobs to Claude.

I get what you’re saying but this is actually a public api in HotSpot. It was provided in JEP 408: https://openjdk.org/jeps/408

so this is what it feels to be old...

but to clarify, this was about a year ago where I struggled to find an auto completion for HttpServer and when I searched it up jdk HttpServer was simply not in the results so I made assumptions that were wrong.

.net has been able to ship the runtime with your app for years.

It's quite genuinely a pleasant language.

I was learning it and having a great time with it. Unfortunately the job market for it is abysmal. And in 2026 with the current state of the job market I didn't want to focus my time on something that wouldn't help me to get a job. But still the most fun I have had with a language.
