Novo Nordisk does the vast majority of their RD in-house. I can’t speak to other companies.

I've read a little about Novo Nordisk's history and it is a pretty interesting story about aligning financial success with human flourishing. The pharmaco is a subsidiary of a anti-diabetes foundation started from proceeds from getting permission to produce insulin.

The foundation has an objective of providing support for scientific, humanitarian and social purposes. . . . In 2024, the foundation distributed a total of DKK 10.1 billion (approx. $1.39 billion) and paid out DKK 6.9 billion ($1.08 billion) in grants. [0]

Does Keybase support chat message search yet? Otherwise claiming to support all important features of Slack is stretching the truth. I use search extensively at work.

Yes, it does

Website is in Estonian, but talk is in English.

I’ve recently switched from an on-prem to cloud hosted Exchange. And the performance is terribly laggy using the native outlook client for windows. This happens both from a professional network and my home network. I was wondering if anyone has seen the same? Or I’ll have to go through the troubleshooting steps to proceed.

> Instead, maybe it’s about pursuing your interests fully, but with enough internal self-awareness to regularly evaluate what you’re not pursuing as a result — and make changes if necessary. Living in this manner trumps balance any day.

That is exactly how I would describe 'balance'. The article seems to use a different definition, though.

It seems to me that the input data for the study is "just" the final report from the hackers to the customer. The academic researchers (who are presumbably nowhere near the level of expertise of the hackers) then annotate and categorize the conceptual tasks behind each word and sentences in the report.

It seems to me that a lot of bias on the input data, based on the annotators knowledge. They try to account for this by using multiple (n=7) annotators, but I doubt if that is enough.

Two questions come to my mind:

1) What level of detail do the final reports contain? I have procured and read a few pen testing reports myself, and the level of technical detail seemed too low to infer the hour-by-hour activities of the hackers in any meaningful way. Would be nice if the paper explained what those reports actually contained

2) I wonder what it would take to get the hackers themselves to keep a diary/journal of the hour by hour activities. That would remove a lot of noise from the input data.

I live in Denmark. I still see a rapidly growing number of electric cars on the streets. It is just smaller, less expensive electrical cars that take over (Renault Zoe, WV e-UP, Nissan Leaf). I would venture to guess that Danes don't want to spend more than X kroner on a new car. And the Tesla price point broke that limit when the tax discount was removed.

Pronouncing the electric car uncompetitive over this is an exaggeration.

The article doesn't say it lacks competition.

The decline in growth is entirely the result of the huge import tax:

> electric car dealers were for a long time spared the jaw-dropping import tax of 180 percent that Denmark applies on vehicles fueled by a traditional combustion engine.

This article is only looking at growth rates, not total sales by cost or by market position, so it wouldn't be a useful comparative metric anyway.

If anything, what it indicates is that they'd sell 10x more cars (both electric/gas) if it wasn't for the tax.

- 2600 sold in 2015 w/ 0% import tax

- 200 sold in 2016 w/ 180% import tax
