I think it's essentially a transformer, so it just stores a bunch of weights. As a model that's supposed to be able to convert any image to 3d scene, it's pretty nice size actually.
Regarding the ios lockscreen - I believe they are different models. I think Apple use this one to generate those Vision Pro 3d photos though, but I'm not too sure.
Oh come on Anthropic, just admit straight away that any other pricing than usage-based is completely unsustainable and is being phased out.. maybe doing it once but officially could save you some brand damage.
System partitions being non-writable has nothing to do with the vulnerability - it allows modifying the cache of any file that you can open for reading.
Not using setuid anywhere means you'd have to build a slightly more clever exploit, but it's still trivial - just modify some binary you know will run as root "soon".
But... I didn't check, but IIRC the untrusted_app secontext that apps run in is not allowed to open AF_ALG sockets - so you can't directly trigger the vulnerability as a malicious app. Although it might be possible in some roundabout way (requesting some more privileged crypto service to do so).
Its not writing to the partition though is it? It is polluting the cache page via a write with a buffer overrun in the kernel. I don't think buffer overruns follow permissions.
Sadly forget about it - GrapheneOS will only work on Motorola __flagship__ devices, and most of their budget phones are not even made by Motorola, but rather by the odm such as Tinno, where it's not even possible to unlock the bootloader without exploits.
> losing access to normal android devices would be a big blow to the momentum of the F-Droid community.
For me it seems the opposite - if these "normal" (GMS spyware) Android devices lose the access to F-Droid and it will only be possible to install malware/adware from Google Play, then maybe that will push more people to value unlocking the bootloader..
Yes, but not because of those changes in the GMS stock OS, but because the ability to unlock the bootloader (and install the OS you can actually control) is being increasingly limited.
Stock GMS Android was never yours, you only had access to basic permissions, privileged/signature permissions were only accessible to Google/vendors anyway.
If I may address this with both skepticism and curiosity, why. I think I speak for everyone when I say I would pay to go back to facebook 2018. No algorithm, no ai.
If blatant perjury didn't get anyone in jail nothing will...

> “Mr. Roman did not stop there, however. He also testified that up until January 16, 2024, Apple had no idea what fee it would impose on linked-out purchases:
> Q. And I take it that Apple decided to impose a 27 percent fee on linked purchases prior to January 16, 2024, correct?
> A. The decision was made that day.
> Q. It’s your testimony that up until January 16, 2024, Apple had no idea what fee it’s going to impose on linked purchases?
> A. That is correct.”

> Neither Apple, nor its counsel, corrected the, now obvious, lies. They did not seek to withdraw the testimony or to have it stricken (although Apple did request that the Court strike other testimony). Thus, Apple will be held to have adopted the lies and misrepresentations to this Court.”
