That's an interesting use of Git, and it makes sense as it handles individual contribution and history tracking.
I wonder how much storage conversations could take up over the long term if they become sufficiently popular (I think of the 2.3gb of conversation data on my phone). Also, it will be interesting to see how things like attachments are handled.
