Yes, you are correct - you need to store your grid and you can do that via a physical print, digital storage (including a native encryption option), and a recovery phrase for deterministic grids (12 words). The latter provides the means to storage the grids in the same way you would a normal seed phrase, but with an added layer of security against evil maid attack.
